Biography

Hello 😊 It’s Gabriela Vega, an Electrical Engineering undergrad. I’m interested in the interseccion of technology + design in the research areas of Human-Computer Interaction, wearables, AR/VR, IoT and Computer Vision for human augmentation and well-being.

Currently, I’m an Intern at Emphatic Computing Lab — University of Auckland and I’m a former Visiting Undergrad Researcher at the Interactive Organisms Lab — UC Davis, advised by Katia Vega working on wearable computing and HCI.

I love to watch sci-fi movies and photography 📷. In my free time I like to learn new technologies. Feel free to reach me out for projects and collaborations.

  • Interactive Organisms Lab. Advised by Prof. Katia Canepa Vega.
  • Developed and prototyped a canine joint angle measurement wearable using 9-DOF Inertial Measurement Units (IMU).
  • Developed a web application that allow wireless communication between a wearable device using the p5ble.js library and a BLE module.
  • Collaborated on a project to design a multi modal feedback wearable that allow users to perform canine exercises correctly.

  • UI design and front-end web development of a web app for geocoding addresses using interactive maps, using Adobe XD and Angular 9.
